Charges dropped against man accused of not returning 'Freddy Got Fingered' VHS

A Concord, North Carolina, police officer ran his license then asked him to step out of the vehicle. The officer showed Meyers the arrest warrant, and he was arrested later at the police station after agreeing to turn himself in. Meyers was charged with failure to return rental property, a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of a $200 fine.

On Wednesday, he appeared in court and the charges were dropped.

“Common sense told me it was going to be dropped, but it took a month and a week to find out what was going to happen," Meyers said. "(I am) very happy right now. (I'm) very, very happy to know this is behind me. That's the first and last time it's ever going to happen. I won't be in handcuffs again."

Meyers said he is working to have the arrest expunged from his record.

He has also been in contact with the movie's star, Tom Green.
