Michael Burnett and Christina Butler are charged in separate accidents involving dead pedestrians.

On Saturday, two pedestrians died on DeKalb County roads, leading to charges for the drivers who allegedly hit them.

Michael Burnett, 34, was driving a 2017 Nissan Frontier when he hit Gerald Deangelo Dent, 22, on Snapfinger Woods Drive, according to warrants. Burnett was accused of fleeing the scene at about 7:25 a.m. but was soon arrested on charged of vehicular homicide.

He was held on $1,000 bond Monday, jail records showed.

Christina Butler, 27, is accused of being under the influence of alcohol when she hit James Arnold Johnson on Covington Highway, according to warrants. Further information on Johnson wasn’t available.

Witnesses said it appeared Johnson was also intoxicated as he walked into the road at 11:09 p.m., but it isn’t clear if he was. Witnesses said traffic was clear when he walked in the road, and they didn’t hear a car horn.

Butler is charged with vehicular homicide and DUI. She had no bond Monday.
