East Point talks grants, fire stations

The East Point City Council will consider approval of a contract agreement for $128,500 during the regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Jefferson Station Council Chambers, 1526 East Forrest Ave., Suite 400. The contract, if approved, would be with Brown Design Group, LLC for designing the city’s planned Fire Station Four.

Another agenda item discussed is the city’s purchase of a forklift from Crown Lift Trucks costing $25,995. The council will also discuss approval to apply for the 2016 Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The amount of the grant is $850,000 and if awarded will require the city to provide 10 percent matching of $85,000.
