Residents of Cobb and Marietta vote today on whether their school systems will enact their fifth Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or E-SPLOST.
Cobb is asking for about $797 million and Marietta requests about $62.4 million.
The E-SPLOST is a one-cent sales tax that lasts a maximum of five years or until the established cap is reached.
And if you live in Marietta, you might vote on a new education board member out of Ward 6 — the northeast section of Marietta represented on the city council by Michelle Cooper-Kelly.
The candidates for that position are Patricia Echols, a paralegal and private investigator, and realtor Kerry Minervini.
