A Lawrenceville woman was killed in a crash involving multiple tractor-trailers that brought travel on I-75 South in Henry County to a standstill for more than six hours Tuesday morning.
The collision happened near mile marker 221, or just past Jodeco Road and before Jonesboro Road, at around 4:40 a.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The lanes were cleared around 11:20 a.m., GDOT stated, and traffic was flowing again by 1 p.m.
Police identified the victim as 35-year-old Sarah Rogers. Authorities said several other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, without elaborating.

According to officials, the wreck involved five vehicles, two of which were big rigs. After the crash, a crane was used to lift a vehicle that appeared to have been pinned under one of the tractor-trailers. Several other big rigs remained on the shoulder of the interstate during the cleanup efforts.
“Investigators are currently looking into the cause of the collision,” police said.
