The vehicle that is thought to have been used by a man accused of killing his 3-month-old daughter has been found, Gwinnett County police said Tuesday.

“Charles Hamilton’s vehicle has been located at the Atlanta airport,” Cpl. Deon Washington said in a news release Tuesday. “We are working with the Atlanta Police Department and have detectives on their way to the airport to oversee the impound of the vehicle.”

Authorities were seeking a tan 2008 GMC Yukon with Georgia tag TRINI3 that allegedly was used by Hamilton, 44, police said. He has been charged with murder, cruelty to children and aggravated battery in connection with the death of Adriana Hamilton.

Charles Hamilton has not been seen since Sept. 12.

“GCPD detectives will look into the possibility that Charles has fled the area,” Washington said.

A 911 caller Sept. 9 said the baby was having breathing problems at an apartment in the 11400 block of Springs Lane near Peachtree Corners, police said.

However, doctors at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, where emergency crews took the child, determined the baby actually had fractured ribs and bleeding on the brain, police Cpl. Michele Pihera said earlier.

Police determined she suffered those injuries in Hamilton’s care, Pihera said. He was watching the girl while Adriana’s mother went to a laundromat, Pihera said.
