“Give Me Five” charity dinner
Foodies, get ready to fawn! Dine on five different dishes prepared by local Atlanta chefs from establishments such as Atlas and Richards’ Southern Fried. Start with a cocktail hour before sitting down to a multi-course feast paired with wines selected by local sommeliers. Between courses, consider bidding on the live and silent auctions featuring items from a progressive dinner at the Buckhead Life restaurants and a private dining experience at the Piedmont Driving Club to a wine-and-dine holiday in Italy. The evening will be emceed by Star 94.1’s Jeff Dauler and Jenn Hobby. Proceeds from the event support the No Kid Hungry project.

Pigs and Peaches
Things might get messy when the city of Kennesaw hosts its annual Pigs and Peaches festival this weekend. See the barbecue pros and amateurs sweat as they compete to see who can cook up the best dish. Sweet specialists will be baking, too, as they try to concoct the best peach dessert of the festival. Listen to live music throughout the day from three performance stages featuring an array of acts, including Atlanta’s own Shawn Mullins. Though there isn’t enough food from the competitors to go around, there will be plenty of food vendors on site to sate your barbecue and dessert fix.

Classic car show
Ever dream of seeing the inside of a vintage Chevy? Want to hear the roar of an old Mustang? Satisfy your curiosity at the Georgia Classic Rides car show in Dallas. From Model T’s to the favorites from the early ’90s (which might not seem too long ago), this show has an array of amazing autos. It’s not just about looks either; the folks behind the wheels are more than willing to tell you a thing or two about their antique pride and joy. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to support underprivileged children in the local area.
