These metro Atlanta companies are making big hires this January

If one of your New Year's resolutions is to find a new job, you'll find several metro Atlanta companies and other employers that are making big hires this month.

Check out the following openings, which range from special education teachers to baristas:

Gwinnett County Public Schools

Special education teachers who are already certified or who will be soon can apply for openings at Gwinnett County Public Schools. A job fair will be held on Jan. 27 from 8 a.m.-noon at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Rd. NW, Suwanee. You'll be able to interview for openings, and contracts for the 2018-19 school year will be offered.

You'll need to complete an online application and register in advance by Jan. 22 (or when all interview times are filled) to attend the fair and schedule an interview. For more information, send an email to gcpsteach@gwinnett.k12.ga.us.

SunTrust

SunTrust bank has many openings throughout the metro Atlanta area, including positions for administrative assistants, UX managers, assistant branch managers, staff auditors, mortgage loan consultants and tellers.

Emory Healthcare

The Emory Healthcare ambulatory practices are hiring medical assistants this month. You'll need to have at least one year of experience and be certified from the AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCMA.

Interested applicants can attend a job fair on Jan. 6 from 9 a.m.-noon at 12 Executive Park Drive NE, Atlanta. Plenty of free parking is available outside the building, and you'll want to bring copies of your resume. RSVP here if you plan to attend.

Aramark

If you're interested in working in the food service industry, Aramark has openings throughout Atlanta in January. The company has been recognized among the Most Admired Companies by Fortune, and current openings include positions located at Morehouse College, Spelman College and Oglethorpe University.
