TLC's Chilli issues a fitness challenge to women worldwide

Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas hit the top of the charts in the 90's with TLC. She and group member Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins wrapped up a tour with New Kids on the Block and are reportedly working on a new album , but for now, Chilli is focused on fitness.

The Atlanta-native released a fitness single "Body," and has spent several months forging promotional partnerships ranging from Beachbody with Shaun T to leading a fitness class at Macy's Lenox Square last month.

Now the petite powerhouse is teaming up with Charity Lynette, a New York based fitness instructor, to issue a worldwide workout challenge centered around the song.

From Wednesday, May 18 - June 11, the pair are asking women worldwide to download the single and create a one-minute video (or less) of themselves or a group of women dancing, walking, working out, or just moving to the song.

The videos should be posted to Instagram with the hashtags #BODYbychilli,  #fitnessforyourcurves or #PlusICanMove and there will be random giveaways and social media shout outs from Chilli and Charity.

Chilli says the song is her way of encouraging people to get active.

"I love Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign that's geared towards children, but I wanted to do something that encouraged women, especially Moms, to start moving," she said. "So often women focus on everything and everyone else, and forget to make time for themselves.  I want Body to be a motivator for people, especially women, to get up and get active."

Here is a clip of Chilli talking about her inspiration for the song:
