If you want a quick and easy gift for mom on Mother’s Day, the experts at Ebates say skip the flowers and invest in a gift card. But while one in five moms in the survey conducted on behalf of the cash back shopping site said a gift card to her favorite store is the way to go, there is something special about giving your mom a thoughtful gift.

And don’t be fooled, no matter what she says, your mom does want a Mother’s Day gift (only 8 percent of moms said they don’t.)

After gift cards -- experiences, jewelry, spa packages and, yes, even flowers rank high on the wish lists of most moms. More than half of Americans said they plan to spend $50 or less on these items for mom.

Almost one-third of Americans start shopping for a gift a week before Mother’s Day. So get to the store and buy the moms in your life something nice. These ideas will get you started:
