The fog and drizzle should clear — eventually.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said a cold front making its way through North Georgia is pushing these isolated patches of light rain with it, but the skies should clear up around 5 p.m.

The chance of rain is 20 percent, and it’s warmed up into the low 50s in Atlanta. The expected high is 53 degrees.

The cold front will also bringing a northwesterly wind with it, occasionally producing gusts up to 20 mph, Walls said. When the wind picks up, the low clouds should break up.

“I am expecting that cloud cover to thin out as that drier air moves in,” Walls said.

Already thinking of Christmas? Walls said the current outlook for the next six to 10 days is “warmer than average and drier than average.”

The Falcons’ last home game against the Arizona Cardinals began at 1 p.m., so even though traffic is light now, it might pick up near Mercedes-Benz Stadium when the game ends.

Georgia Department of Transportation contractors were to implement lane closures on I-285 this weekend, weather permitting, for the Flat Shoals Bridge Reconstruction project in DeKalb County, the agency announced.

The scheduled closures will last through 5 a.m. Monday:

• two right lanes will be closed on I-285 eastbound from the Flat Shoals Road exit to the I-285/I-20 interchange;

• two left lanes will be closed on I-285 westbound from the I-285/I-20 interchange to the Flat Shoals Road exit.

In Paulding County, utility work is expected to cause road closures on U.S. 278, Ga. 120 and Atlanta Highway, the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center reported.

Crews also will complete paving Flat Shoals Road in the project area Sunday until 8 p.m. Traffic on Flat Shoals may be shifted during the paving operations.
