It’s hot, humid and wet as metro Atlanta contends with yet another typical Monday evening commute.
Showers have popped up across parts of Buckhead, Decatur and Midtown and could lead to potentially dangerous roads, Channel 2 Action News reported.
“That heavy rain is going to sit in that spot for several minutes and can lead to ponding on the roads,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
While temperatures quickly climbed to the 90s, rain lowered them back into the 80s, Channel 2 reported. Currently, it’s 89 degrees in Atlanta.

Showers should diminish by 7 p.m.
There is some good news for later this week. Enough dry air will move into the area to limit the chance of storms to 20 percent Tuesday and to 10 percent Wednesday, which Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said will be the driest day of the week.
It will stay hot, however, with average temperatures above 90. The average for this time of June is 87 degrees, and metro Atlanta should surpass that each day this week.
