Shortly after Wednesday night’s game ended, the Braves announced Freddie Freeman would participate in this year’s Home Run Derby. Freeman has 16 home runs this season and was the top vote-getter among National League All Stars. While some were elated he’d be in Monday night’s contest, others were displeased. And there was plenty in between.
In the first round, Freeman will square off with NL East foe Bryce Harper. The two already got the smack-talk going.
Some were simply happy to see Freeman’s success validated on a national scale.
But others remain concerned about one thing.
Freeman, the 7th seed, ranks middle out the pack in terms of favorites to win the contest.
Love it or hate it, Braves fans will be watching Monday night.
