Patrick Reed rises in FedExCup standings after Masters win

After winning his first major championship Sunday at the Masters Tournament, Patrick Reed rose from the No. 27 spot to No. 5 in the FedExCup standings.

The top 30 players on the FedExCup standings will travel to Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club for the final of four FedExCup Playoff events September 19-23. Reed’s career-best finish in the FedExCup Playoff was in 2016 when he won the Northern Trust Tournament and landed third-place overall.

Reed, a former University of Georgia and Augusta University golfer, shot three rounds in the 60s (69-66-67) during the Masters, taking the 36- and 54-hole leads and posting a final-round 71. Reed finished the tournament 15-under 273 total in his sixth PGA Tour win.
