It’s time for my weekly MLS Power Poll, the only MLS Power Poll that recognizes that arbitrarily ranking teams means nothing in the grand scheme of things and is done just to spark debate and not attach importance to the reporter’s ego.

Result: 2-0 win at Toronto.
Gregg Berhalter may be the best coach in MLS after his squad knocked off the defending champs.

Result: 4-0 win vs. Atlanta United.
Four goals in one half should not be overlooked.
Next: vs. Vancouver, 6 p.m. Saturday.

Result: 2-0 win at Sporting KC.
I’m not sure David Villa is actually aging. I’m sure I’m not surprised that KC was shut out.

Result: 2-1 win vs. Portland.
Many people in the offseason were enthusiastic about the Galaxy’s re-build in the offseason. Easy to see why after one game.

Result: 3-2 win vs. Minnesota United.
I want to say this was impressive for the Earthquakes but I watched the Loons play a few times in the preseason.

Yes, Will Ferrell, Seattle’s fan do wave those flags all game.

Meh.

Result: 1-1 draw at Orlando City.
Not too bad considering they had to fly to Orlando the day of the game because the wind storm delayed Friday’s flight.

Result: 1-1 draw with D.C. United.
They pulled out a point in the final minutes. Probably not the grand beginning the team envisioned.

It’s hard to rank the Sons of Ben higher because I think the Revs are going to be awful this season.
