The Falcons closed out their second day of minicamp practice with a two-minute drill.

Backup quarterback Matt Simms drove the offense down for a field goal attempt with 28 seconds left on the clock.

Here are five things we learned:

1. Roberts injured. Wide receiver Andre Roberts, signed as a free agent over the offseason, suffered an injured back and was working on the side with the trainers.

2. Upshaw excused. Defensive lineman Courtney Upshaw was excused from practice to attend to a family matter.

3. Gabriel held out. Wide receiver Taylor Gabriel, who has a lower leg strain, was held out of practice. He didn't come outside during the practice.

4. Jarrett shining. Falcons coach Dan Quinn has been pleased with the offseason work of defensive tackle Grady Jarrett. "His arrow is definitely pointing up," Quinn said.

5. Campbell had eye surgery. Linebacker De'Vondre Campbell, who's moving to strongside linebacker, had Lasix surgery this offseason. His eyesight has improve immensely.
