The Falcons signed cornerback Leon McFadden and released running back Terrence Magee on Monday.

Starting cornerback Desmond Trufant is set to return from the NFL’s concussion protocol against the Saints on Thursday. Nickel back Brian Poole has a back injury. Both missed Sunday’s game against the Vikings.

McFadden was drafted in the third round of the 2013 draft by the Browns. He has played in 34 NFL games.

The Falcons had worked out McFadden and Leodis McKelvin on Nov. 30.

McKelvin, 32, was a former first-round pick of the Bills in 2008. The Waycross native played at Troy and spent nine seasons in the NFL, last season with the Eagles.
