Atlanta Legends add Welter to coaching staff

The Atlanta Legends announced three additions to its coaching staff, including Jen Welter, who was the first female coach in the NFL when she served as a linebackers coach with the Cardinals during training camp in 2015.

Welter will serve as a defensive specialist on head coach Brad Childress’ staff for the new Alliance of American Football franchise. Also added to the staff were Miles Robinson as an offensive assistant and Tyler Anderson as a defensive assistant.

After her stint with the Cardinals, Welter became head coach of the first Australian women’s national team in 2017.

Robinson, who attending Atlanta’s Booker T. Washington High and Tuskegee University. He most recently served as tight ends/H-back coach at Miles College in Alabama.

Anderson was worked at the University of Iowa for the past eight seasons, including most recently as special teams assistant.

The Atlanta Legends begin play in February with Georgia State Stadium as a home field.
