Fans react: Falcons’ Freeman becomes the NFL’s highest-paid running back

The Atlanta Falcons and running back Devonta Freeman agreed on a five-year, $41.25 million contract on Wednesday.

The deal that made Freeman the NFL’s highest-paid running back included a $15 million signing bonus and $22 million in guaranteed money.

The four-year League veteran out of FSU was set to make $1.838 million on the last year of his rookie contract before he agreed to terms Wednesday morning.

In the past two seasons with the Falcons, Freeman rushed for 2,132 yards and 22 touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yard per carry. Freeman was also an asset downfield in 2015 and 2016, receiving for 1,040 yards and five touchdowns on 127 receptions.
