Who is the Bulldogs’ biggest rival?

Georgia Bulldogs’ 2018 season

Who is Georgia’s biggest football rival?

Is it Auburn? Georgia first played Auburn in Atlanta's Piedmont Park in 1892. It's known as the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.

The Bulldogs are 59-56-8 against the Tigers.

• Notable rivalry moment: One of the most college football's most memorable images occurred during a rivalry game at Auburn in 1996. Tigers wide receiver Robert Baker caught a touchdown in the front right corner of the end zone. After letting the ball fall, Baker made a move toward Georgia's mascot, Uga V, and his handler Charles Seiler.

"[Baker] kind of made a beeline for Uga, who had his back turned to him originally," Seiler recalls. "It was a big, loud noise since he scored. It startled him ... If Uga hadn't landed, he would have grabbed Baker right in the crotch, and that would have been a painful thing. But he ran out of rope."

Is it the Gators? The Bulldogs and Gators first entered football hostilities in 1915.

They've played annually since 1926. The game has been played in neutral-site Jacksonville, Fla. (except for a home and home set in 1994 and 1995), since 1933 in what was largely known as the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party." The moniker has been cast away in recent years.

While Florida has dominated the series since 1990, losing just 7 games to Georgia in that span, the Bulldogs lead the overall series 51-43-2.

• Notable rivalry moment: Georgia head coach Mark Richt instructed his players before their 2007 game against Florida to be sure to get a penalty for excess celebration after their first touchdown. They ended up being called for two after nearly 70 players stormed the field and danced in the end zone. Florida had won 15 of the previous 17 meetings. Georgia won that day, 42-30.

Is it Georgia Tech? Usually reserved as the final game of the season, the Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate has existed since 1893.

Tech and Georgia reference one another in fight song lyrics. The two were conference rivals for three decades. A member of the ACC, Georgia Tech is Georgia’s lone power conference opponent outside the SEC this season.

Since 1979, Georgia has won 29 of the last 38 games against Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs lead the Yellow Jackets 66-41-5 in the series.

• Notable rivalry moment: The Jackets entered the 2009 contest as the country's top rushing team. The Bulldogs, however, won the ground game over the ACC Coastal Division champs outrushing the ninth-ranked Jackets, 339-204, for a 30-24 win.
