WATCH: Georgia star Jake Fromm takes QB situation in stride

ATHENS — Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm is keeping his focus on the team, not necessarily himself.

That much was evident when Fromm was asked how he manages the situation with freshman quarterback Justin Fields also getting snaps in games.

“It’s not something to really think about,” Fromm said. “We both come to work every day, and it’s not something I think about a whole lot.

“I’m just coming to work trying to figure out how I can make my guys on offense better, how can I make myself better, and not really focusing on anything outside.”

The Bulldogs’ quarterback situation is like most others, in that fans are constantly discussing the position and the future of it.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart has maintained all along that it’s fluid, and he’ll continue to make decisions that are in the best interest of the team as the Bulldogs look to repeat as SEC champions.

Fromm’s experience and poise was evident at South Carolina last Saturday.

Fromm was 6-of-6 passing for 115 yards in the third quarter as Georgia pulled away for the 41-17 win.

The Bulldogs’ starting quarterback is now 27-of-34 passing for 351 yards and 3 TDs and an interception this season.

The Braves scored five times in a wild seventh inning, capped by a two-run single by Johan Camargo, for a 6-5 victory Friday night at SunTrust Park. The win reduced the Braves’ magic number to clinch the National League East to...

What’s the ‘magic number’ for the Atlanta Braves now?

The Braves’ ‘magic number’ is down to two after a 6-5 win over the Phillies Friday night. All they have to do is win one of the next two games against Philadelphia to earn the NL East Division title. Failing that, they still have six more games to play to finish off the second-place Phillies. Any combination of Braves victories...

Georgia Tech-Clemson: TV, online, radio information

A frustrating loss to Pittsburgh last weekend marked Georgia Tech’s ACC opener. Now the Yellow Jackets (1-2) must face the No. 3 Clemson Tigers (No. 2 in the coaches poll). The Tigers have become a national powerhouse and feature one of the all-time great defensive lines in college football. That’s probably not good news for a team that...

Woods, Rose take Tour Championship lead into the weekend

The weekend pulls in too many directions. Prepare to be cleaved and conflicted.  There are some very good reasons why this Tour Championship is moving to August. And they include: Georgia football (at Mizzou); Georgia Tech football (sticking its hand into the Clemson wood chipper); the Braves (phinishing off the Phils); the Falcons (the Saints...
