Report: Former UGA football star Andy Johnson dead at 65


Former Georgia football star Andy Johnson has reportedly passed away at the age of 65.

Fox 5 Atlanta reported Wednesday morning that Johnson, who was an Athens native who played both quarterback and running back, passed away after a “long illness.”

Johnson earned letters for UGA in both football and baseball from 1971-73. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the fifth round of the 1974 NFL Draft, and went on to have a nine-year NFL career.
