Kirby Smart and Georgia ended the early signing period with the No. 1 class in the country. And now the Bulldogs will close National Signing Day with the No. 1 class in the country.
With the additions of 5-star cornerback Tyson Campbell and 4-star linebackers Quay Walker and Otis Reese, Georgia officially locked up the nation’s No.1 overall recruiting class using the 247Sports Composite rankings. The Bulldogs edged out Ohio State, who also add a 5-star prospect and a 4-star outside linebacker.
This win by Georgia ends Alabama’s streak of 7-straight top ranked classes. The last time Alabama didn’t have the No. 1 overall class, was in 2010 when it had the No. 4 class.
Georgia landed a staggering 7 5-star recruits, which is by far the most in the country. The Bulldogs also landed 4 of the top 12 recruits in the country in Justin Fields, Jamaree Salyer, Zamir White and Tyson Campbell.
This comes a year after the Bulldogs signed the No. 3 class in the country. The 2018 class marks the first time in program history that the Bulldogs finished with the No. 1 overall class in the country. As of Noon ET, the top 5 was Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, Miami and Penn State.
And for fans peaking ahead to 2019, Georgia already has the No. 1 class in the country and has already secured commitments from 3 5-star prospects. Georgia added a commitment from 4-star 2019 tight end Ryalnd Goede This is all on the heels of Georgia’s first apperance in the College Football Playoff.
Georgia’s class also had 9 early enrollees, led by Fields and White.
