Auburn RB Kamryn Pettway leaving school to enter 2018 NFL Draft

AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn football will be without both of its top running backs of the last two seasons for 2018, as Kamryn Pettway is NFL-bound.

Pettway announced he would forgo his senior season for the 2018 NFL Draft via Instagram on Wednesday afternoon.

The Auburn family will always have a special place in my heart. I want to thank you all for a wonderful four years. War Eagle!

The 6-foot, 235-pound running back led the SEC in rushing yards per game as a sophomore in 2016. Pettway missed all but five of Auburn’s games in the 2017 season due to several injuries and a short suspension at the start of the season.

Pettway, who started his career at Auburn as a fullback, had 76 carries for 305 yards and six touchdowns in 2017. He was widely expected to not return to the program in 2018 and did not travel with the team to the SEC Championship Game or the Peach Bowl.
