Friday wasn’t a good day for Braves pitchers. And it wasn’t a good day for a former Braves pitcher either.
Kris Medlen made his first start for the Arizona Diamondbacks and lasted just four innings against the Astros.
Medlen gave up nine hits and seven earned runs. He also walked four while striking out four.
Medlen, 32, became a free agent in the offseason and signed a minor-league deal with the Diamondbacks. He was called up Friday to replace injured starter Robbie Ray.
Medlen’s former team didn’t fare so well Friday either. The Braves lost to the Giants 9-4.
