Hawks’ rookie Trae Young has played just three NBA games but he’s already put his name in the history books.

Young had 35 points and 11 assist for the Hawks in Sunday’s 133-111 victory at the Cavaliers.

In doing so:

* Young became the eighth rookie in NBA history to compile at least 35 points and 11 assists in a game, joining Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Steph Curry, Oscar Robertson, Allen Iverson, Sherman Douglas and Kelvin Ransey.

* Young is the first player in NBA history with a 35-point/10-assist game within his first 10 NBA games. Previous fewest NBA games to first 35-point/10-assist game was 11 by Charlie Scott in 1972.

* Young joins Curry as the only rookies in NBA history to record at least 35 points, 11 assists and six three-pointers in a game (Curry reached those marks on Feb. 10, 2010 against the Clippers), according to Elias Stats Bureau).

* Young is the first Hawks player to ever record at least 35 points, 11 assists and six 3-pointers in a game, according to Elias Stats Bureau.

Young was 13 of 23 from the field, including 6 of 14 from 3-point range. He also had two rebounds, two steals and only one turnover.

In addition, for the first time in Hawks history, the team had three rookies make a least three 3-pointers Young (6), Omari Spellman (4) and Kevin Huerter (3).

Notable

* Forward John Collins will have his ankle injury re-evaluated on Tuesday. The second-year power forward has missed the first three games of the season due to the injury, which required a non-surgical procedure. The original diagnosis called for a re-evaluation on Monday but the Hawks were off following the season-opening trip.

* Hawks players will get their first real look at the renovated State Farm Arena with a practice on Tuesday. The team will move the workout from its practice facility in advance of the home opener on Wednesday against the Mavericks.
