Update: The Hawks announced the signing of Morris to a second 10-day contract Sunday afternoon.

The Hawks and rookie guard Jaylen Morris have reached agreement on a second 10-day contract, according to a person familiar with the deal. The move hasn’t been announced but will become official before the Hawks play the Bulls Sunday afternoon at Philips Arena.

Morris made his NBA debut on Feb. 28 against the Pacers. He’s played a total of 93 minutes over five games with averages of 4.8 points, three rebounds and 1.2 assists.

Teams can sign a player to a maximum of two 10-day contracts. If the Hawks want to retain Morris after his second contact expires they would have to sign him for at least the remainder of the season.

Morris wasn’t selected in the 2017 draft out of Molloy College of NCAA Division II. The Hawks singed him after he’d played 39 games for their G-League affiliate in Erie, Pa.
