Hawks’ Muscala upgraded to questionable

Mike Muscala has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday night’s game against the Wizards. The forward/center has missed the past 24 games because of a left ankle sprain.

Starting center Dewayne Dedmon remains out with a left tibia stress reaction.

Muscala has not played since Nov. 3. He appeared in the Hawks’ first nine games, including five starts, and averaged 6.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 22.4 minutes before the injury. Muscala just returned from two games with the Hawks’ G-League affiliate in Erie, Pa. He appeared in one game and had 12 points, two assists, one rebound and one block in 16 minutes.

The Hawks listed Muscala as inactive for 21 games, G-league assignment for two games and did not play in one game during injury. Muscala was at Hawks practice Tuesday afternoon.

The Hawks (8-25) host the Wizards (19-15) at 7:30 p.m. at Philips Arena. The Hawks will attempt to win back-to-back games for the first time this season after heading into the Christmas break with a victory over the Mavericks. The Wizards are coming off a Christmas Day win at the Celtics.
