This date in Braves history: Hank Aaron’s only inside-the-park homer

On this date in Braves history:

Braves great Henry Aaron hit a whopping 755 home runs in his Hall of Fame career. And only one of them failed to leave the park.

Aaron legged out an inside-the-park homer on May 10, 1967.

It came against the Phillies and pitcher Jim Bunning but the Braves fell in Philadelphia 4-3.

Aaron was known for his power but he had speed when he was younger too, stealing 31 bases in 1963 and 240 in his career.

Joe Torre also homered for the Braves that day but Phil Niekro got the loss, pitching in relief.

Other Braves in the lineup that day included Felipe Alou, Rico Carty, Mack Jones, Clete Boyer, Dennis Menke, and Woody Woodward. Dick Allen, Johnny Callison and Bill White were among the Phillies that suited up.
