A native of Huntsville, Ala., who played at Auburn, Grant Dayton joined the Braves from the Dodgers organization.

When acquired: The Braves claimed Dayton, who is 30 years old, off waivers from the Dodgers on Nov. 20.
What to expect: He gives the Braves another left-hander to consider in the bullpen. The others are A.J. Minter, Sam Freeman, Rex Brothers, Jesse Biddle, Jacob Lindgren, Adam McCreery, Ricardo Sanchez and non-roster invitee Phil Pfeifer.
Summary of career: Dayton made his major league debut in July 2016. He impressed as a rookie out of the Dodgers' bullpen that season, making 25 appearances with a 2.05 ERA, 39 strikeouts and only six walks. Batters hit .149 against him. Last season he fought through stiffness in his neck and spent several weeks on the disabled list.
Career highlight: Not much stands out to this point, so let's call it his major league debut at age 28. The Dodgers played the Cardinals in St. Louis on July 22, 2016. The Cardinals prevailed 4-3 in 16 innings. Dayton pitched two innings, the 11th and 12th. He allowed no hits and struck out two batters.
Something you didn't know about him: His nickname is "G Money" – a moniker he wore on the back of his jersey during Players Weekend in August.
