Five things about the Braves after their 12-4 rout of the division-leading New York Mets on Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series at SunTrust Park:

1. The Braves lead the majors with 70 runs in 10 home games. They have a National League-best 104 runs in 18 games overall, the second Braves team in the Atlanta era to reach 100 runs in the first 18 games and first since the 1999 team had 118. Four other teams in franchise history did it since 1900. The Braves' three runs in the first inning Thursday gave them 19 first-inning runs, second-most in the majors.

2. Matt Wisler, in his season debut and just his second major league start in 20 months, limited the Mets to two hits, one run and no walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings. He was the first Braves starter to last seven innings this season and just the second to have a walk-free start.

3. Over the past 13 games, Braves starters have a 2.06 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 74 innings. They've allowed 17 earned runs, 60 hits and five homers in that 13-game stretch. This after the starters posted an alarming 7.15 ERA in the first five games while allowing 18 earned runs and seven homers in 22 2/3 innings with a bloated 1.008 opponents' OPS.

4. The Braves (11-7) moved to four games over .500 for the first time since they were 8-4 on April 19, 2015. It's their best record through 18 games since 2014 (12-6). The Braves are 7-3 at SunTrust Park, where they have the majors' second-highest home batting average (.289) and rank fifth in the majors and third in the NL in home OBP (.362). The Braves are sixth in the majors and third in the NL in both home OPS (.810) and home slugging percentage (.447).

5. Ozzie Albies doubled Thursday for his majors-leading 15th extra-base hit and needs two to match and three to break the franchise record for extra-base hits through April. The record of 17 extra-base hits through the end of April was done by Dale Murphy in 1985 and equaled by Chipper Jones in 1998 and by Justin Upton in 2013.
