Luiz Gohara had a much better outing in his second rehabilitation start.
The Braves’ left-hander worked four innings for Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday. He gave up two hits and one earned run, a homer, struck out four and walked one for the Stripers in a game at the Pawtucket Red Sox.
He allowed just a second-inning home run by Mike Ohlman to left field in the second inning. He left with Gwinnett holding a 2-1 lead. Gwinnett lost, 10-9, in 11 innings.
Gohara, 21, has been on the 10-day disabled list since suffering a left ankle sprain on March 26 in spring training. In his first rehab start, last week for Double-A Mississippi, he pitched 3.1 innings and gave up five hits, five runs (one earned) with four strike outs and three walks.
Gohara is scheduled to make at least two more rehab starts.
In addition, Braves top prospect Ronald Acuna went 3-for-6 in the game and has raised his batting average to .217.
