Braves get three ESPN games in first week of 2019 season

The Braves’ allure is returning following a dramatic 2018 season which included 90 wins and a division championship.

ESPN selected Braves at Phillies for its 7 p.m. slot on March 31. The rivals will be concluding their first series of the new season after battling for first place through most of last year.

The country gets another dose of Braves afterward: ESPN will air their home opener, April 1 vs. the Cubs, as well as their meeting on April 3. The day in between is scheduled off.

It’s already a jump from a season ago, when the Braves weren’t featured in ESPN’s Sunday night lineup.

Led by Ronald Acuna and other exciting young players, the first week probably won’t be the Braves’ last in the national spotlight.
