Atlanta United will learn on Dec. 3 its position in next year’s CONCACAF Champions League in a televised draw.

Atlanta United earned a spot in the tournament by accumulating the most points in MLS from the 2017 and ’18 seasons.

The draw will take place at 7 p.m. and will be televised by Univision Deportes.

Fifteen clubs have qualified for the tournament: Alianza FC (El Salvador), Atlanta United FC, Atletico Pantoja (Dominican Republic), CD Guastatoya (Guatemala), CD Marathon (Honduras), CF Monterrey (Mexico), Club Deportivo Toluca (Mexico), CS Herediano (Costa Rica), Deportivo Saprissa (Costa Rica), Houston Dynamo, Independiente FC (Panama), Santos Laguna (Mexico), Sporting Kansas City, Tigres UANL (Mexico) and Toronto FC.

For the draw, clubs will be placed into two pots from which they will be drawn and placed into one of two brackets. Each pot is assigned a bracket.

Atlanta United doesn’t yet know into which pot it will be placed.

Some contents of the pots have been determined:

Pot 1: CF Monterrey, Club Deportivo Toluca, Santos Laguna, Tigres UANL, Toronto FC, U.S. 1, U.S. 3 and U.S. 4

Pot 2: Alianza FC, Atletico Pantoja, CD Guastatoya, CD Marathon, Club Atletico Independiente, CS Herediano, Deportivo Saprissa, and U.S. 2.

The bracket pots contain the following positions:

Pot A: A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8.

Pot B: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8.

A club will be picked from one club pot, followed by a spot picked from its assigned bracket pot. Clubs from the second pot, and spots in the second bracket pot, won’t be drawn until all the clubs and spots in the first pots have been drawn. Clubs from the same associations can’t face each other in the first round. So, Atlanta United can’t face Houston, for example.

In Round of 16, clubs drawn from first pot will play away first, and host the return matches. The winners of matchups number 1, 3, 5 and 7, will host the return leg of the quarterfinals and will face the winners of matchups 2, 4, 6 and 8 respectively.
