Atlanta United has yet to receive a written offer for Miguel Almiron, club president Darren Eales said on Tuesday after the team’s victory parade to celebrating winning the MLS Cup.

Almiron, a 24-year-old midfielder, finished second in the MVP voting behind Josef Martinez after scoring 12 goals with 14 assists this season. His speed, dribbling ability and work ethic on offense and defense are some of the reasons he is considered the best player in MLS.

“Clearly there’s been a lot of interest, not only in the Premier League but from top clubs around Europe,” Eales said. “I’d expect that because he he’s had a wonderful season.

“The reality is, and forgive me for repeating myself, he’s got three more years under contract with Atlanta United. He’s one of our top players. We’re MLS Cup champions. We have an owner in Arthur Blank who wants to win. If the right offer comes in that’s right for Miggy, right for the club and right for the league then we will consider it.”

Almiron was most recently reportedly drawing the interest of Newcastle in England’s Premier League. Past reports have linked him with clubs in England and Italy.

The Paraguayan has said his dream is to play for a club in Europe. Outgoing manager Gerardo Martino has said that he promised Almiron he would help him fulfill that dream.

Almiron said after Saturday's 2-0 win against Portland that clinched the league title that he would be with Atlanta United for preseason camp. That camp will open in January. The transfer window will close at the end of January.
