Atlanta United captain Michael Parkhurst didn’t train with the first team Tuesday for the second consecutive day, but said he “is on track to play” in Saturday’s MLS Cup against Portland at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Parkhust, a centerback, sustained the injury late in the second of last week’s game at New York Red Bulls.

He said on Tuesday that the ankle is “feeling good.” Parkhurst worked out before the team Tuesday. He said it went well.

Parkhurst, 34, is trying to compete in his fifth MLS Cup. He is 0-for-4 with three losses while with New England and one with Columbus.
