The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race announced Thursday the elite runners who will be part of the field when the 48th annual running of the event kicks off on the Fourth of July.

On the women’s side, 2016 Olympic Marathoner and American 10K record holder Shalane Flanagan (Portland, Ore.) and Jordan Hasay (Portland, Ore.) -- who posted the fastest-ever marathon debut by an American woman in finishing third at the Boston Marathon in April -- will help highlight the field. They’ll be joined by 2017 U.S. Half Marathon champion Natosha Rogers (Littleton, Colo.) and Neely Gracey (Boulder, Colo.), who was the top American at the Peachtree last year.

Five-time Olympian Bernard Lagat (Tucson, Ariz.) is the biggest name on the men’s side, alongside Leonard Korir, who ran in the 10,000-meter event at the 2016 Olympics.

“The AJC Peachtree Road Race is an iconic American race that I have always wanted to run,” Korir said. “Being able to compete for the U.S. championships on the Fourth of July with some of the best road racers in the country makes it even more special.”
