Mikayla Lyon is being held without bond at the Cobb County jail.

A Marietta police officer was hanging halfway out of a car as a woman tried to get away from a recent traffic stop, ending in a crash outside a Krystal restaurant, officials said.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the woman, identified as Mikayla Lyon, was pulled over for an improper lane change Nov. 3. An officer became suspicious and asked her to exit the car.

Then, however, police said Lyon ran back to the car and tried to drive away.

The officer ran over and struggled to get her out, the news station reported.

Lyon then “jerked the vehicle’s transmission into drive and accelerated rapidly while the officer was still partially inside,” careening toward a Krystal on Canton Road, an arrest warrant stated.

With the officer still hanging out of the car, she allegedly ran into a post near the drive-thru, damaged a curb while hopping over a median and crashed into a wall. After crashing, she allegedly ran into the woods, where she was tracked down and arrested.

Other cars were lined up in the drive-thru during the crash, Channel 2 reported.

Police said they found a bag of methamphetamine in Lyon’s car.

She faces 10 charges, including obstruction of a police officer, fleeing and drug trafficking, according to Cobb jail records. She is being held at the Cobb County jail without bond.
