Atlanta police are investigating after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run on Langford Parkway near the Downtown Connector.

Atlanta police are investigating a woman’s death in an apparent hit-and-run near the Downtown Connector.

“Her injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” Officer Lisa Bender told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a statement. “The suspect vehicle did not remain on scene.”

Officers responded to a person down call just before 1:50 a.m. Thursday near the Langford Parkway split in southeast Atlanta, she said.

Two drivers told police they pulled over in the gore to help the woman, who was struggling to walk. She collapsed and emergency services workers from Grady Memorial Hospital later determined she was dead, Bender said.

The woman’s name and a description of the vehicle have not been released.
