As we approach the November elections, the “Hot Gates” of political debate are alive and well in the Georgia. I would like to thank the AJC for taking such a balanced approach, reporting what is happening in our great country and state and listening to what the citizenry has to say on many political issues – in particular, publishing letters to the editor from all sides of the political spectrum. Healthy and civil discussion and debate are good for a constitutional republic such as ours, and the AJC has been a key conduit for this. Again, thank you. And remember, you can’t complain about what you permit, so vote!

Liberal media deliberately ignores Trump’s successes

When is the AJC and most other outlets going to let their readers know what the Democrats intend to do to grow our economy if they win the presidency in 2020?

Specifically, how will Democrats continue Trump’s booming economy? – something the mainstream media refuses to acknowledge. If Democrats do take back the presidency, how are they going to create jobs when their policies of increasing taxes always have led to higher unemployment and less growth in the economy? The national news media has no reason for the extreme bias against Trump; his successes can’t be ignored, yet the mainstream media, including the AJC, does. Why not recognize a leader who’s accomplished so much for this country? The answer is simply management and editors of these news outlets hire people who hold the Democratic Party line, and almost exclusively, those who march to the same drummer follow the liberal/socialist agenda.

Women officeholders needed to bring needed change

What GOP politicians just did to Dr. Ford shows why sexual abuse survivors rarely come forward. For courageously sharing the worst experience of her life, Dr. Ford was vilified, patronized, jeered at, threatened and, ultimately, ignored. The president mocked her at a rally, and the FBI “investigation” didn’t bother to interview her. Dr. Ford’s abusers cranked up the stereo to drown her out; GOP senators cranked up their rhetoric. Once more, a powerful man’s “right” to ascend the ladder trumped a woman’s right to be taken seriously. For her admirably restrained testimony, Dr. Ford must now live in hiding. For stonewalling and throwing a tantrum, Judge Kavanaugh received a lifetime promotion. The GOP boys’ club will never get it because they don’t want to get it. They are so terrified of change, they cower in men’s rooms. Only an influx of women officeholders can fumigate their toxic locker room.

Dems’ out-of-state fundraising shows their hypocrisy

A recent The Atlanta Journal-Constitution article (“Kemp, Abrams haul in $22M in three months,” News, Oct. 6) revealed that Georgia governor candidates Brian Kemp and Stacey Abrams have much different sources for fundraising. Brian Kemp is getting most of his funds from inside the state, whereas 80 percent of Democratic Party money for Stacey Abrams is coming from out of state, mainly from California, New York and the District of Columbia. These areas are very liberal. Is it really proper for out-of-state money to influence an election? Isn’t that like Russian money influencing a national or state election? Isn’t that like an out-of-state person running for office in Georgia? The Democrats have done so much to try to find out-of-country influence in our elections but see no problem in getting out-of-state money to influence a state election. That’s hypocritical!
