Anyone with a computer can criticize

I have to laugh at the pundits who call Donald Trump a lousy negotiator. Trump built a multibillion-dollar business because he was a great negotiator. If some of his efforts failed it was because he took risks, not because he couldn’t swing a deal. Pundits, on the other hand, risk nothing. It doesn’t matter if they are right or wrong. They just sit behind a desk and spew out opinions. I’m in my robe doing that right now. It ain’t that tough.

Religious beliefs can’t be used to discriminate

It is truly disheartening to see the creation of the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division of the Civil Rights Office of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The name is a misnomer. This division is nothing more than a license to discriminate against people under the guise of the medical provider’s alleged religious beliefs. This time the targets are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender citizens of our nation as well as those seeking reproductive medical care. A physician takes an oath to “first, do no harm.” Denying medical care based on their personal religious beliefs is doing harm. We have seen this same scenario before when African-Americans were refused medical care by white doctors and hospitals.

Religious beliefs against integration were used to support discrimination.

People died because they could not find a medical provider. Use of religious beliefs in this manner is meanness at best and deadly at worst. Those who claim to be Christians and hiding behind this position need to take a closer look at the teachings of Jesus Christ. So we take yet another step away from a society where all are treated equally and free from being discriminated against. Shame on this administration.
