Opinion: Aligning interests around common goals

There’s strength in unity. And cohesion, rather than wheel-spinning division, provides the best fuel for the kind of action and thinking that will best let metro Atlanta, and Georgia, position itself to seize the best opportunities of today and tomorrow.

That line of thought bubbled up during The Atlanta Regional Commission’s recent annual State of the Region breakfast. As the federally recognized metropolitan planning organization for this area, aligning diverse interests toward a common goal is a key part of the ARC’s mission. It’s commonsense work, given that this metro’s challenges such as education and transportation congestion don’t stop at any geographic border.
