January 26: Trump and the KKK

"I don't know why, but I like this one a lot. President Trump, to me, so often seems unhinged at times. I just thought it would be funny to have some Klansmen saying they missed Obama because of Trump's antics."

February 5: Orange history week

"This is what it's like for me every week since Trump has been president; he will say or do something and I'll ask myself, 'should I do a cartoon on that'? And another hour later, he'll say or do something else. In this cartoon, he did all of these things in one week. It was during Black History Month, so that's what led me to label this one Orange History Week."

June 14: Jeff Sessions, the elf

"One of my favorite things as a cartoonist is to capture someone as a cartoon character. You know, Jeff Sessions, he does look just like an elf. Because of that, he's even been lampooned on TV as an elf on the shelf. He doesn't want to testify truthfully, I believe, and that's what I tried to reflect here. I think he will continue to be a good subject in 2018."

July 18: Ann Coulter

"This one's about an event that involved Delta Air Lines. It was a really fun drawing to do. I'm not a big fan of Ann Coulter; she can be so mean. She was tweeting about the way she was treated on a flight, or something, and it was just fun to draw her using another, fanciful way of getting to a destination."

October 3: NRA

“You know, these mass shootings, they occur so regularly that it’s almost tough over time in coming up with ways to express myself to make a point. There’s no mystery why these killings happen. What’s so frustrating to me is that we could solve this problem with some sensible gun controls. The other Western nations, they don’t have this level of gun violence. But the NRA, they run Congress now.

October 8: Logos on parade

"Evidence indicates that the Russians, they are using our social media tools; they have weaponized them against us, really. This will just keep going on and on. America really has to get smart about combating this and restoring trust in our elections. The Russians have really figured out how to battle us, and bomb us on the cheap. We're very vulnerable and it seems like there hasn't been a great effort made to guard the elections coming up in 2018 and 2020. You know, it's a very scary thing.

December 1: Sex abuse support group.

"This is just a revolution that's happening. Women are finally being listened to when it comes to sexual harassment. I think it's a great thing. It's really ensnared men, both on the right and on the left, as I show in this cartoon. And I don't think it will slow down anytime soon. My hope is that all of this is going to force men to be respectful, and to realize there's a price to be paid for being pigs."

December 19: Airport power outage

"The Hartsfield-Jackson power outage; that's one of the biggest local stories of the year. It was a refreshing change of topic too, since for me, Trump has just dominated this year. So I'm always looking to do something that's not Trump-related. Just the fact that's the world's-busiest airport lost power for so many hours is just crazy."
