The Morgan County Sheriff asked residents, mostly children, Friday to stop bothering entertainer Post Malone, who is in the area on vacation, officials said.

"If you see him out on the town feel free to say hello, he has been very kind and respectful to all who have talked to him," officials said in a post on Facebook. "Our office will enforce those who want to trespass on the residence he is staying at, he is just a guy trying to enjoy his vacation."

Officials wanted to quell the rumors that Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, was also going to perform at a high school football game.

"He is not performing at the high school game tonight or does he have any involvements with the game," officials said.

Malone is popular for songs including “White Iverson,” “Rockstar” and “Better Now.”
