Miley Cyrus, Neil Young, Gerard Butler lose homes to Woolsey Fire

Celebrity Homes Destroyed By Southern California Wildfires

When Mother Nature strikes, being an A-list star won’t protect you or your property. At least three stars have said their homes were destroyed in California wildfires.

Singer Miley Cyrus posted to Twitter  Sunday that the home she shared with fiance Liam Hemsworth and their pets "no longer stands," but she assured her fans that everyone one living at the home got out safely and that it is all that matters, Billboard reported.

She also posted ways people can help those affected by the flames.

Singer Neil Young is also one of the famous victims, but he fired back at President Donald Trump's statement that blamed the fires that are plaguing the West Coast on "gross mismanagement of the forests," The Guardian reported.

Young said, via his website, that "California is vulnerable -- not because of poor forest management as DT (our so-called president) would have us think. We are vulnerable because of climate change; the extreme weather events and our extended drought is part of it."

Young said this is not the first time he has lost a home to a wildfire in California.

“California is a paradise for us all. A gift. We are sad to not be able to defend it against Mother Nature’s wrath. We love California. We are not ill-prepared. We are up against something bigger than we have ever seen. It’s too big for some to see at all. Firefighters have never seen anything like this in their lives. I have heard that said countless times in the past two days, and I have lost my home before to a California fire, now another.”

Actor-producer Gerard Butler was also one of the victims of the Woolsey Fire.

He tweeted over the weekend that his home was gone.

Butler, Cyrus and Young are not alone. Scott Derrickson, who directed "Doctor Strange," lost his home and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro said that his home, which is filled with memorabilia, was in danger, but survived the fire.

Actress Shannen Doherty also said her home was in danger of burning, but has been spared, Deadline reported.

Her "Charmed" co-star Alyssa Milano said her home also was not destroyed and that her children and horses were safe. She tweeted, "My house is still standing. I'm on my way to bring firefighters water and food."

A house burns during the Woolsey Fire on November 9, 2018 in Malibu, California. After a experiencing a mass shooting, residents of Thousand Oaks are threatened by the ignition of two nearby dangerous wildfires, including the Woolsey Fire which has reached the Pacific Coast at Malibu.
