Traffic has remained fairly light by evening commute standards, and there hasn’t been much rain in metro Atlanta to worsen road conditions, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Northwest Georgia is getting the bulk of the rain, even though Atlanta had a 60 percent chance.

A flash flood warning issued earlier by the National Weather Service for parts of Floyd, Walker, Gordon and Chattooga counties expired at 5:30 p.m.

Notable wrecks are few and far between, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. There is a crash on I-85 South near I-285 that is blocking two left lanes in DeKalb County, which is causing delays.

However, there’s still many interstates moving at the speed limit, according to the Traffic Center.

Given that it's 5 p.m. on a Monday, the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center is still showing a lot of green.

Monday was the first day drivers had to pay to use the Northwest Corridor Express Lanes in Cobb County. The lanes on I-75 were free to use for the first two weeks for drivers with a Peach Pass.

With clouds keeping temperatures in the lower 80s Monday, it feels more like fall in metro Atlanta.

“Not as warm, not as hot, as we have been over the last several days,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said. “We had temperatures at 90 degrees (Sunday). We won’t get there today.”

It’s currently 84 in Atlanta, which is one degree above the expected high.

Temps should not get above 85 degrees for the rest of the week, according to the latest forecast from Channel 2.

That’s still above the average of 80 degrees for this time of year, but it’s much lower than it has been, Minton said.

Wednesday and Thursday each have a 70 percent chance of rain. Some areas could see 1 to 2 inches by the end of the week, according to Channel 2.
