Woodstock police are advising motorists of potential traffic delays later this week, when graduation ceremonies for six Cherokee County high schools are scheduled at First Baptist Church of Woodstock on Alabama Road (Ga. 92).

Thursday, May 24, will have the graduation for River Ridge High School at 4 p.m. and Etowah High School at 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, will see Creekview High School at 4 p.m. and Woodstock High School at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 26, will have Cherokee High School at 9 a.m. and Sequoyah High School at 1 p.m.

Heavy traffic is expected on eastbound and westbound Ga. 92 as well as on Trickum and Neese roads at least one hour prior to the start of each ceremony, police said. Uniformed offices will be posted to assist, but police recommend drivers avoid the area and use alternate routes, if possible.

“If traveling to a graduation ceremony, please allow for travel delays,” police said.
