Update:

A Waffle House on Cobb Parkway aced its re-inspection after previously failing in part due to food safety issues.

The eatery scored a 100 on March 29, according to the health department report.

A Waffle House in Cobb County has failed a recent health inspection for a host of issues, including food safety and staff problems.

The 24/7 beacon of Southern salvation at 3275 Cobb Parkway earned a 64 on Friday, health department records show. Any score below a 70 is considered failing.

The Acworth store was cited after expired milk and creamer above the threshold of 41 degrees were found.

An inspector also saw an employee drinking out of a non-disposable cup with a lid and straw, which isn’t allowed. In addition, a worker also used their bare hands to turn off the water faucet instead of first getting a paper towel.

It also appears the dish washing machine did not reach the 180 degrees needed to disinfect, and sanitizing solution in a bucket was found to not be strong enough.

A corporate spokesperson sent a statement that in part reads: “We want to apologize to our customers for letting them down. Delivering a quality and safe experience is a responsibility we take very seriously, and we let our customers down. All of the behavioral issues have been addressed and additional coaching will be provided to our associates.”

During its last two inspections, the Acworth store has earned high marks; in June 2017 it scored a 98 and a 96 in June 2016.

Follow-up inspections are usually done within 10 days of the original evaluation.
