Lyft and Uber are offering free and discounted rides on Election Day.

Voters concerned about Election Day transportation issues can catch a free or discounted ride using the rider-hailing apps Uber and Lyft.

Both companies partnered with voting organizations, allowing them to provide free or discounted rides to polling places on Nov. 6.

Uber partnered with political organizations #VoteTogether and Democracy Works to ensure "that transportation isn't a barrier in getting to the polls," according to a news release on its website. The company sent out promo codes to 15,000 potential voters with the hopes they'd use them for a free ride to and from the polls.

If you did not get a promo code for a free ride, you can still get a ride to the polls at a $10 discount. Riders must enter the promo code “Election Day” (without quotes) in the payment section of the app before requesting the ride.

Users can then request a ride using the polling place locator within the app. The code cannot be used for rides from polling locations.

Lyft is offering their riders a similar deal.

The company partnered with several nonprofit organizations, including Vote.org, Nonprofit Vote, TurboVote, to offer 50 percent off promo codes, the company announced on its website.

Lyft is also offering free rides to those in underserved communities through organizations such as local Urban League affiliates and League of Women Voters.

Polls open at 7 a.m. Nov. 6.
