A Georgia high school teacher is no longer in the classroom after a video of her using a racial epithet surfaced Wednesday night, according to The Daily Citizen in Dalton.

In the video, Murray County High School teacher Jennifer Cooley can be heard saying a slur and puckering her lips, the newspaper reported.

School officials are investigating the incident.

Mike Tuck, a spokesman for Murray County Schools, said the district doesn’t condone the use of racial epithets.

“It's inappropriate in any situation,” Tuck told The Daily Citizen.

He would not give additional details about Cooley’s employment status with the district.

"At this time,” Tuck said, “I have nothing further to add other than it is being taken very seriously, dealt with swiftly and extremely regrettable.”
